During the Summer our meetings have been at Croft Farm Water Park. These meetings allow everyone to experience lifesaving in a new environment that presents a range of different challenges to a pool.

Over the course of the meeting we work through and complete the still water part of the award scheme, this involves knowing and identifying the main risks of the body of water, being able to asses the situation and decide what type of rescue is needed and to be able to carry out the rescue chosen. The rescues range from a shout and signal rescue where the rescuer doesn’t enter the water to towing the casualty out of the water.

The sessions help to improve fitness and confidence in swimming in open water – and is good fun!
